It give me great pleasure to introduce you to Sri Sukhmani College of
Nursing. It is an unique institution of it’s kind and not part of run of
mill institution that have mushroomed in Punjab.
As you are aware nurse is an important member of medical fraternity.
While the doctor diagnoses & treats the patient, it is the nurse who
has to provide the nursing care. Nursing profession as such has
undergone radical changes over the past many years. These changes
necessitate the training, Which should incorporate all the recent
techniques besides developing sense of devotion towards professional. I
am sure & assure you the institute shall impart training of
international standard, which shall equip the students to compete with
her colleagues in other countries.
The experienced faculty shall make all out efforts to develop sense
of service before self in students, so that they may prove worthy of
trust, posed by ailing humanity in them. They will develop sense of
responsibility & human outlook in life & proper attitude that is
required in order to function as an effective member of the health care

It is well known to all of us that the future of nursing profession
& health of this nation is in the hands of nurses. So I understand
that you are unique youngsters (Children) having your own dreams, ways
& means to fulfill them. It is my pride & moral responsibility
to welcome you all in nursing profession which is accepted as one of the
challenging & respectable profession by the people with
multidimensional socio – cultural back ground.
I hope the student nurses are ready to face challenges of the 21st
century, globalization, multiculturalism, rapidly changing technology,
explosions of knowledge & political pressures / philosophies too we
have to accept the newly emerging value system in health care. No doubt
that human approach & holistic approach will remain & we can not
afford to forget it.
Every nursing teacher of college of nursing deserves the pat of
appreciation for accepting the challenge of organization &
leadership. Our students are also participating in various cultural
activities. I am sure that student’s energizing abilities, intelligent
contribution & competitive spirit would certainly bear fruitful
