Bachelor of Science in Nursing is of four academic year after 10+2 with medical subjects including compulsory rotatory internship.

B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing is of two academic years after General Nursing & Midwifery.
B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic) 40 Seats

GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery)

General Nursing & Midwifery is of three years & six months duration, after 10+2 in any stream including compulsory rotatory internship.

General Nursing and Midwifery 50 seats

B.Sc Nursing courses are subject to the rules of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot & Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi. These courses start in July/August every year.

Eligibility For B.Sc Nursing 4 Year course

Eligibility will be as per the prospectus of Punjab Paramedical entrance test (PPMET) issued by Baba Farid University of Health Science, Faridkot as per Govt. Notification ___________

Distribution of Seats

a) The distribution of seats in private institutes will be.

1. Govt. Quota seats 50%
2. Management Quota seats 50% (Including NRI and out of state quota)

b) The government quota seats would be filled up by the admissions committee appointed by the Government on the basis of merit in PPMET – 2010 and onwards, only except, if provided otherwise.

c) The management quota seats would be filled up by a Central Admission Committee strictly on the basis of merit in the PPMET – 2010 and onwards except, if provided otherwise. The candidate for the admission on management quota shall apply to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot also. As the Management Quota seats shall be filled up on the basis of PPMET – 2010 by the centralized admission committee constituted for this purpose. Government quota seats remaining vacant will be transferred to management quota and vice – versa.

RESERVATION

(i) Schedule caste 25%
(ii) Backward classes (Note : the backward class certificate must be as per the latest instructions of the Government of Punjab) mentioning the income as laid down by Govt. of Punjab from time to time. 5%
(iii) Physically Handicapped Orthopaedically handicapped (disability 50% to 70%) to be determined at the time of counseling by a duly constituted board of the specialty of orthopaedics. The reservation for physically handicapped shall be 3 % out of which 1% each shall be given to the 3 categories of handicapped falling under visual impairment, hearing impairment and the orthopaedically handicapped. 3%
(iv) Migrants from Jammu and Kashmir due to terrorist violence 1%

THE FOREIGN INDIAN STUDENTS (N.R.I.) SEATS

i. Seats – 15% seats shall be earmarked for the Foreign Indian Students (N.R.I.). The Foreign Indian Students (N.R.I.) quota in private institutes will be part of the management seats.

ii. Eligibility – The candidates against Foreign Indian Students (N.R.I.) seats will be admitted on the basis of merit determined on the basis of marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) in the qualifying examination. The eligibility, merit and equivalence of the candidates will be determined by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, who will issue and eligibility certificate for such candidates. They are not required to take the entrance test. However, they should have passed in such qualifying examinations in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (PCBE) individually and should have obtained at least 50% marks. Candidate shall apply to the concerned institute on the prescribed form for Foreign Indian Studetns (N.R.I.) seats.

iii. Preference – For admission to the seats reserved for the Foreign Indian Students (N.R.I.) candidates preference, to the exclusion of others, will be given as follow:

a) First preference will be given to those Foreign Indian Students (N.R.I.) candidates who are having ancestral Punjab resident background.

b) Second preference will be given to those Foreign Indian Students (N.R.I.) candidates who are having ancestral backgrounds of other states of Indian other than Punjab.
